Product Personality
If your product is making a statement, then why should its presentation be any less bold?
This project is an example of bringing out the character of a product through a blend of visual techniques. With the right amount of motion and emotion a product can feel as powerful as it is. A little drama and some dynamics in this case bring out the pen’s character. This is a full CGI showcase with a fountain pen I created just for this video.
Process.
A great candidate for this video is a product that represents elegance and craftsmanship, alluding to the care required to create the video itself.
I designed and modeled the pen with fine details to allow for great close-up shots.
Storyboarding and animation were crucial in bringing it to life. A still render can do a lot for visual communication, but animation can take it a step further.
Deliberate Design.
The presentation of a product matters immensly. Everything has to be carefully considered. Here are some of the factors that impact the mood and how the product is finally perceived:
- Lighting
- Textures
- Colours
- Camera angles
- Framing/composition
- Pacing
- Shot transitions
- Music and Sound effects
